We are going to listen to what the radial pulse of the person expresses, what its variations in amplitude mean for the person, what stories the blocked emotional points have to tell.
The person is fully clothed and comfortably lying on the examination table. The Etiotherapist sits to the left of the person, holding their wrist to listen to the radial pulse which is beyond the cardiac pulse.
Beside the Etiotherapist are a couple of worksheets (e.g. somatotopy of the ear, emotional points reading grid, etc) and filters.

Somatotopy of the ear - projection onto the body, in a particular anatomical area, of all the information contained in it. The ear, like the foot, the hand or the iris is an anatomical area where somatotopy can be expressed and read by the etiotherapist.

Etiotherapy filter (above) - made up of a hollow rubber ring. The concentric shape of the filter stabilises in its centre the vibratory nature of the information embedded in it: a color, material, symbol. The filter resonates with the energy of the information expressed by the body through the emotional points located on the ears.

The etiotherapist reports to the left ear of the person (7 acupuncture points) and/ or to the right ear (3 acupuncture points) and, whilst scanning the pinna (visible part of the ear) he / she will feel quickly a rebound from the radial pulse.
This rebound means that one of the acupuncture (emotional) points is emitting an energy flow. This point resonates with one of the items on the reading grid that the etiotherapist uses to find precisely the emotional reason that created the symptom.
The etiotherapist gives the information back to the patient which they expressed subconsciously through their radial pulse. What the etiotherapist does effectively is bringing to the person the coherence of the information, the emotional points, that their pulse expressed. Typically, several emotional points will be identified during the session that will pinpoint the origin(s) of the symptom(s) that brought the patient to the etiotherapist. Again, although those symptoms can be physical, emotional, psychological, what matters here is to find the origin of the problem that caused the physical, biological emotional symptoms.
By becoming consciously aware of the emotional cause(s) of the symptom(s) the person can then start the metabolisation process which will free them from these symptoms.
